The first three stages of the Tour of Poland are done. Physically I am absolutely where I want to be. But Fabio Jakobsen's bad crash in the opening stage really affected me. We were teammates at Quick-Step and often shared a room at training camps or races. I very much hope that Fabio survives this.
After the long racing break we first had to find out how our form is. The team and I basically have good legs. Now we have to work some on our timing. When we get that, then the sprinters and I will have our success. I am sure of that. On the 173 kms of the Queen stage tomorrow things will really get down to business. I assume that the decision concerning the overall victory will be made. The profile is one for good climbers. Someone like me, actually...
